As an avid fan of Robotham, I was happy to be able to do an 'ILLO' for this book. As with all his novels, this was utterly spellbinding. The tensions increased throughout. Secrets and lies follow the main characters. I highly recommend it - you will definitely enjoy. The only negative I can offer is the very ending - didn't understand what it was about. As an avid fan of Robotham, I was happy to be able to do an 'ILLO' for this book. This compelling novel is classified as fiction; however, the author credits the protagonist, Danusha, for sharing her incredible and painful story of survival - as stated in the 'Acknowledgements'. The experiences of Danusha from early childhood through young adulthood give the reader a glimpse of her astonishing life during WWII.This compelling novel is classified as fiction; however, the author credits the protagonist, Danusha, for sharing her incredible and painful story of survival - as stated in the 'Acknowledgements'. I didn't especially enjoy this book. I anticipated it to be more of an in-depth tale of father/daughter. Wouldn't recommend it.

This was a compellingly stark and accurate portrayal of the attempt to eradicate the Jews during WWII. Horrific but true. The Germans were a scourge from Hell upon the earth for those years prior to and during the War.

This mystery was somewhat confusing. Plots and sub-plots - too much to absorb. I wouldn't recommend it

I began reading this book. However, it soon became boring - too much description. I refer to this as 'filler'. I stopped reading at around page 75. Usually Baldacci is one of my favorite authors - not this time.

An excellent insight into life during the period of The Wall, separating Free Germany into two sectors, through Russia/the GDR (German "Democratic' Republic). Infamous and cruel, they sought out citizens who defied their rule and imprisoned or murdered many thousands who only wanted to reunite with family and seek freedom in the West.An excellent insight into life during the period of The Wall, separating Free Germany into two sectors, through Russia/the GDR (German "Democratic' Republic). An interesting but not compelling read. There was too much back-and-forth dialogue. Eventually, I became bored with the story and skipped pages. I wouldn't recommend it, despite other glowing comments

Michael Robotham is one of the best thriller writers I have read. This latest book deals with abused women, and of a police officer who is protected by those in power. Excellent thriller and I recommend it

This was a good novel. However, the Golden Son is better. I read the hard-cover book - not the e-book.

This is yet another illustration of those who yearn for peace and democracy in an autocratic society. An excellent retelling of a family's search for freedom.

Another interesting novel by Follett. As he points out, there is very little data to be obtained about the Dark Ages. Nevertheless, he navigates a likely history of life during that time. I should mention that 'Pillars of the Earth" was a far cry above this book.Another interesting novel by Follett. As he points out, there is very little data to be obtained about the Dark Ages. The author did a great job of introducing his newest character. The plot moved quickly enough and gave an Orwellian thought of world actions.

Having read London and Russka (both tremendous novels), I wanted to read China. I followed the Opium War, and eventually became disappointed in the lack of a fuller picture of China. I returned the book. I will most likely read it again in the future.Having read London and Russka (both tremendous novels), I wanted to read China.
