While I am a longtime Suzanne Brockmann fan, Do or Die takes her recent tendency to include too many relationships and too many story lines in one romantic suspense book to a new extreme. It was hard to get involved in any one romantic relationship. The plot, while conceptually interesting, did not hold my attention because too much of the book was spent pulling in various characters' back stories. The plot line felt forced, like she had to shoehorn it in to finish the book. The end result was finding out about lots of people, yet not really caring about any of them in a story that was poorly developed. That doesn't work for either romance or suspense.
