Let me begin by saying that I absolutely loved Roses by Leila Meacham. I also enjoyed Titans, so figured I would start Tumbleweeds. Oh my goodness. What a disappointment! This novel was in a similar vein to Roses and even Titans in the fact that there is family drama set in Texas. There is a love triangle and many misunderstandings, but at least in the other novels, the misunderstandings were believable! This entire story was so far fetched and the most disappointing aspect of all had to do with the fact that as soon as these main characters were faced with moral dilemmas, they immediately chose the wrong path and from there on out, covered everything up with lies. I am also supposed to believe that some sort of immaculate conception took place, to explain one of the misunderstandings? I'm disappointed in the lazy writing. What good is a plot twist if it's so unbelievable? Meacham has done so much better.
