George and Harold take a trip back in time to the carefree days of kindergarten, when the scariest thing they had to face was not evil mad scientists or alien cafeteria ladies but a sixth-grade bully named Kipper Krupp, the nephew of their clueless school principal.
I really enjoyed this book when I was younger, it’s funny and comical.
This book showed how George and Harold, the main characters of the series began their friendship and was up against the school bullies, Kipper Krupp and his gang. They kept playing ridiculous pranks on them which lead to a suspenseful climax. But then after that, something even more surprising happened at the end which really made me want to read the next book. I loved the twist. Not to mention the classic yet creative flip-o-ramas featured. I’d recommend this book for any kid looking for jokes, laughs, silliness, and immature humour. That’s all folks.

Reading Level: grade 3. Interest Level: ages 8-10. The ninth book in the Captain Underpants series doesn’t actually feature very much of Captain Underpants or Tippy Tinkletrousers, though his return brings about catastrophic results. What it does provide is the back story of how George and Harold first met and their run-ins with the school bully, Kipper Krupp. Rest assured there’s plenty of action, pranks, laffs, and heart too. (Captain Underpants series)
The ninth installment of Captain Underpants was worth the wait! Instead of a normal super-adventurous and monster-filled out-of-this-world adventure like the previous eight books, we get to read a special super-adventurous and people-filled on-this-world adventure. We get to read a sort of prequel to the Captain Underpants series and find out how George and Harold became friends and defeated school bullies together. A very good read.
