I really enjoyed this book! Being an African American Woman I know exactly how overwhelming it was for Venus. This movie shows that its okay to be yourself and natural. Venus didn't have to have her hair permed in order to be considered beautiful. Not everyone accepted the new look that Venus had, but it wasn't about anybody else. It was about Venus.
