A touching story with a message that is unfortunately becoming more and more relevant today, especially with our neighbours to the south. The story is well crafted and the illustrations both beautiful and expressive, perfectly matching the text.

Inspirational story set in the 1950s about two young girls who, discouraged by the common racial prejudice of not being able to try on shoes in a shoe store, decide to create their own version of that market which is inclusive to all.
The girls' ability to change their world using ingenuity and industry makes for a particularly inspirational read.
