Am currently reading Matthew Sleeth's book: Serve God, Save the Planet. Although I can't speak to the tone set in this book, I can say there are many compelling points in her husband's book. And quitting your job at the ER to share this message far and wide has a far wider reach. Matthew Sleeth saw so many disturbing effects of our lifestyle in the ER, people suffering in ways we should never have to suffer and children dying from pollution. This is not okay! I appreciate this family's commitment to changing the course of our nation starting with themselves. If this author is off-putting, read her husband's book, or find other resources that help you get behind the message and make changes in your own life.

I 100% agree with Einekatze11. It is a "pat myself on the back look how fabulous my family and I are" kind of book. I had to skip a lot of it so I can't say I actually read the entire thing. This is the first time I've commented on a book from the library, but I feel compelled to warn off potential readers. It's time spent that you will never get back!

This book is written by the most conceited author I have ever read. It could've been a really interesting book, and I wanted to like it so much that I tried reading it two separate times; both times I could not get even halfway through. This woman is so prideful the Amish would be HORRIFIED that she has written a book about being "almost Amish". She is the worst of the goody-two-shoes Christians, and her bragging makes her writing absolutely unbearable. Also, who do you think helps people more, a doctor or an "evangelist"? (Her husband quits his job at the emergency room in order to be a traveling preacher...in my opinion the latter makes virtually no difference in people's lives, at least in North America, because they preach to the choir.) What a SHAME!!
