Mike has fallen deeply in love with his best friend, Lindsay. And he's pretty sure she feels the same way...until a simple misunderstanding destroys Lindsay's trust. Devastated and feeling betrayed, Lindsay leaves town for the summer. In the fall, she returns to school a different person and she's suddenly tight with the "in" crowd.

When Lindsay gets intoxicated at a party and ends up in a compromising situation, she has no idea that someone is filming the whole thing on his phone. When the footage goes viral around their school, Mike has to dig deep within himself to find the courage to help Lindsay in her time of greatest need.

Predictable but still a good read. Perhaps if more tweens read it , it would make them stop and think about where they DON'T want to end up in their teen years. Popularity just isn't worth all the nonsense some girls allow in their lives .

Mike's feelings for Lindsey have changed. Sure, he still wants to be her friend, but now he wants more from the relationship. The problem is, he completely screwed up his chance with her at the end of last summer. Now that it's fall, Lindsey has completely changed. Gone is the athletic good girl. In her place is a girl more interested in the number of boys she can have oral sex with than her grades. But when Lindsay decides to go upstairs at a party with the wrong boy, a video is created. Can Mike help Lindsay change her life before the video goes viral? This is a book in the Orca Soundings series. Books in this series have been deliberately created for the struggling YA reader. High interest and low vocab, the plot and characterization are sparse at best. Van Tol does the best that she can with this plot under these parameters. The plot ends right where most readers would want it to continue. This might be deliberate so as to encourage deeper thinking by the reader and provide a jumping off point for writing their own ending. Good book. Not great, but it serves its purpose.

Pretty predictable book. Just by looking at the cover you know what's going to happen. I guess it was ok overall.
People who like short, quick reads might like this book.
