Too dry and uninteresting for me to finish
This is classic Deaver with lots of cliff hanging moments.
Deaver is on my 'carry list' of authors every trip to the library. This one upholds Deaver's ability to pick up the pace and grip the reader from start to finish. Clear, exciting, complex and thoroughly compelling reading. His device of inserting the evidence list with additions from time to time could be left behind - but I can see it helping keep 'bedtime readers', who may sometimes get drowsy, to keep on track. I'd say 4.5 stars.
Good Rhyme/Sachs novel.
Lincoln Rhyme, super investigator in a wheelchair, once more saving the Homeland with a little bit of help from his friends. All the gysmos and gadgets, not to mention the rare and unusual ballistics.Even some very fancy food.Apart from the raft acronyms which go with the territory, what a read. Keeping up with all the twists and turns was an achievement.Jeffrey Deaver is a thriller writer par excellence.
I only ready the first 150 pages or so and stopped reading. First novel I attempted to read by this author, and i definitly wont be reading any more. BORING!!!
A good plot; however, too many repeated details of the crimes. I don't think this is one of his best works.
Books by this author are very violent and often gruesome. The interaction between the characters is very interesting.
Not one of his best. The plot sort of meanders around and it gets a bit preachy in spots. Some parts of this were downright boring. I'll keep reading his books, but hope the next one is tighter.
Deaver needs to find a good editor - this book is easily 100 pages too long and drags at the end.
