This is a wonderfully fast paced and thrilling read. Nothing too cerebral here. Not confusing, as has been suggested by other readers, the book is straight forward with excellent humor and gritty action sequences. Definitely worth reading it and the sequel(s) as well.

Action packed, and a page turner, but the plot was very confusing, and the (emotional) background of the main character was lacking.

totally confusing

I enjoyed the variety of characters, the constant humor in the dialogue, the fast pace, the intense action, and the unique setting. However, I was very confused through much of the first half, as to what was actually happening and why. I also had a hard time keeping track of all the different characters at first. And-- although I'm sure this is not the fault of the author and rather perhaps an oversight during the copy-editing phase of the book--there were so many errors (missing words, mostly) that it became a distraction while reading. Also, some of the mechanics of the author's writing style made the word flow unnecessarily choppy. The awesomeness of the ending made up for all the downsides, though. Overall, a fun read. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I thought this would be a corny predictable book but was pleasantly surprised by the great storyline and believable characters. Not for the timid reader.

Eceni is as beautiful as the day I met her Offworld, and I might have been smitten by her again, if she weren't a homicidal maniac who just dropped a shipping container on my head.
