Summary
Add a SummaryThe title intrigued me and I found myself drawn into this inspirational story of two individuals that God brings together. The story begins with 10 year old Kaylee who has been abandoned by her mother with one of her many loser boyfriends who regularly molests her. Once a a bright, verbose girl Kaylee now is mute and lives in an isolated cabin in the hills near San Francisco.
Sierra is now 34, but when she was in her early 20's she was a drug addict who become pregnant. Her best friend, Ruby, and her family take her from where she was living in California, back to the ranch where she grew up in Texas. Near the end of her pregnancy, Sierra realizes that she does want this baby and vows to God that she will change. Unfortunately due to her addiction her baby, Annie dies. On the 12th anniversary of Annie's death, Sierra (who is now a loner and has shut herself off from life) visits the Redwoods to grieve and is surprised to see a young girl hiding inside a hollow tree. At first she thinks she is seeing things and leaves, but later goes back to check.
Sierra and Kaylee develop a bond and a great story of mutual need follows.

Add a CommentThis book is such a warming, heart touching read. It was a awesome book. It has a touchy subject when it comes to Kaylee, Yet the end makes the book fabulous with the knowledge that God sets us free if we put our faith and trust in him. I recommed this book to anyone that wants to read what the power of God can help with.
