I've tried other drawing books, but Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is the only one that actually helped me. When I started a drawing club, this is the book I decided to use to help others learn how to draw. It's worth its salt!

This is a great book to learn drawing. I have been self teaching drawing for five months. I am in a stage of confusing & helpless. Luckily I find this book. It helps me a lot.

This is the one drawing book that everyone, not just artists, should read.

This is the one drawing book that everyone, not just artists, should read. It was the first drawing book that was recommended to me, and is still the best. If you ever wanted to learn to draw, but can't quite figure out how, get this book. while the text is rather wordy, it is all essential.
Betty Edwards was heavily influenced by an old art instruction book, "the Natural way to Draw" by Kimon Nicolaides. The only difference is that the Nicolaides book is geared more towards serious artists and art students who are going to attend life drawing class/art school, whereas Edward's book is geared more towards training regular people think in a creative, artistic way.

À lire absolument pour apprendre à dessiner. Un peu long, mais ça vaut le détour.

I think her overall theories are correct about utilizing exercises that target the strengths of the right brain, however, she didn't fully make those connections at a very deep level. She starts out talking about neuroplasticity, but the rest of the book is basic 'how to draw'.
