Since the dawn of humanity, a privileged few have lived in stark contrast to the hardscrabble majority. Conventional wisdom says this gap cannot be closed. But it is closing - fast. The authors document how four forces are conspiring to solve our biggest problems. Examining human need by category - water, food, energy, healthcare, education, freedom - Diamandis and Kotler introduce dozens of innovators making the great strides in each area: Larry Page, Stephen Hawking, Dean Kamen, Daniel Kahneman, among many others.

There are a few good ideas, but generally the authors find some unproved research and claim it will save us. Too little too late.

The future is grand! Sayeth this dude! Oh wow, and for sure! Except, we are now at the greatest point of concentration of wealth, thanks to that awesome power of money creation entitlement! Fabulous, but monopoly-finance is the future and to date it has been stifling! If the future is anything like the past [the super-rich financing various terrorist groups, et cetera], I expect worse and worse. . . .

Interesting take on the future and how it may not be as bleak and dire as some predict. Some solid, researched ideas for providing for the future.

As often as I have heard doomsday predictions of how the population explosion is going to impact the world, I have remained positive. To have this book confirm my beliefs was just thrilling. The authors provide hard evidence as to why the world is going to be a wonderful place to live in. We are all seeing how much the techno-philanthropists are doing and how the developing world is booming just as well as the developed world. The future is now and now is great!
