This book is great for people who like guinea pigs, or want to teach about the numbers 1-20. The story is about a teacher who gets guinea pigs as class pets and then they have too many babies so the class needs to adopt them. They end up with 20 guinea pigs. There are also some cute pictures and facts about guinea pigs. The book has some rhymes. At the end the teacher decides to get a rabbit instead, however it implies that the rabbit is already pregnant!

The teacher tells his students that he will be getting them a class pet. They are all trying to think of what it might be. On Monday the students come to class and see a guinea pig in a cage. This is their new class pet. The children decide that he looks lonely and needs a friend, so their teacher gets another guinea pig to keep it company. It turns out to be a girl and the guinea pigs have babies. They keep having babies and eventually there are 20 guinea pigs in the class room. The teacher decides that they need to be adopted and ask the students and parents of the class if they can take them. The students adopt all of the guinea pigs. The class now has no pet again so the teacher decides to get them a rabbit. On the last page it says that the rabbits belly is growing and that it is a girl! Uh Oh!!
