The first time I watched this was in the theater when I was a kid (I know that ages me). I was probably too young and sensitive for this and I had nightmares that night. But it stuck with me and now I love it as an adult. I think the same things that drew me in and scared me as a child are the same things that make it such a great movie. The genius of Jim Henson and Frank Oz creating a believable world out of puppets is amazing. Luckily, I love losing myself in fantasy worlds now.

Jim Henson and Frank Oz directed this beautiful and dark piece. With ground breaking animatronics and concept art by fantasy illustrator Brian Froud. This story of returning balance to the world is wonderfully written and magically produced. I have loved this film for so long and I am happy that it has become a classic. This is not a light family film, it is dark and sometimes scary. I recommend this for older children.

Love, love, love it!!! The storyline, the music, everything. Own it of course. Just relax and let your imagination flow with this one. Beautifully done.

I first decied to watch this film when I heard the theme song on YouTube and thought, "that must be a great film." Well, certainly, it's a good film, but not as grand as the theme song might suggest. Okay, so it's not the Muppets: instead, this is a tolkienian quest fantasy. It's a very incredible film, and certainly better and more imaginative and than any kid's movies released today![Albiet, it's not as "dark" as the critics suggest]. Despite that, this is still an overral hit and miss. the film is a bit too fast-paced, and ther is kind've a lack of emotion. The characters basically retain monotone expressions throughout the entire film, for example. Despite that, I reccomend watching it.

This is simple, classic story of good versus evil that is only strengthened by the fact that late great and very skilled puppeteer Jim Henson was behind it. This is one of those movies that I think everyone should see at least once, and you will either love it or hate it. I would recommend this to fans of fantasy adventure type flicks.

This was a fantastic movie! The puppets and puppetry were amazing. The story was a great one and the voice cast did a fabulous job. I really enjoyed this film. And for a bonus, the special features on disk two were excellent. I loved learning about how the movie was made. NOTE: Parents should note the PG rating. Some of the puppets and some of the action might be too scary for young children.
