A bit of a melodrama in that the characters were either flawlessly good people, albeit with challenges and struggles, or were bad. Good guys vs the villain. The author’s stilted style and repetitive over-explanation seemed like he was writing for kids, yet the storyline – Americans establishing a home for Vietnamese street children – was a plausible and noble undertaking. But poorly executed.
