Jack and Annie are off on another adventure! Now, Morgan Le Fay sends them to find a scroll back in time. However, there is a sense of urgency for the characters because they have returned to the day that Pompeii was flooded with lava, by Mount Vesuvius! Along the way, young readers can pick up a lot of different historical stuff that is actually pretty interesting. Do all readers know that in ancient Rome, they spoke Latin? Maybe not? But for beginning readers, this is definitely worthwhile.
